Paraphrase từ like
a. Cách paraphrase cụm “I like ..”
- I’m fairly keen on…
ex: I’m fairly keen on watching movies
- I’m interested in…
ex: I’m interested in keeping pets
- I’m pretty fond of…
ex: I’m pretty fond of playing sports
- I’m really into…
ex: I’m really into watching movies
- I’m totally mad about…
ex I’m totally mad about playing sports
b. Một số cách trả lời mẫu LIKE
- Do you like the idea of robots helping you at home or driving your car?
=> Yes, definitely. It would be great to have a robot helper at home, and I like the idea of driverless cars – I think driving would be safer if cars were controlled by robots.
- Do you like to buy expensive shoes?
=> No. I tend to buy average-priced shoes because I’m more interested in comfort than expensive brands.
- Do you like holidays? Why / why not?
=> Yes, I love holidays because I get the chance to take a break from work, to relax and unwind, and to spend time with my family.
- Do you like parks? Why / why not?
=> Yes, I like parks because they’re great places to relax or go for a walk. I think every city needs some green space where people can escape from the crowds.
2/ DISLIKE
Paraphrase từ dislike
a. Paraphrase từ dislike
- I dislike it.
This is a formal way of saying “I don’t like it”. It is very direct and could cause offense to some people.
Example: Greta dislikes the taste of pistachio ice cream.
- I’m not into it.
Saying you are not into something is an informal way of saying that you do not find it interesting.
Example: James is not into football, he likes rugby.
- I’m not fond of it.
Not to be fond of something is informal for saying you don’t like it very much.
Example: Since Ben had the accident, he’s not very fond of going skiing.
- I’m not crazy about it
This expression is similar to “not be fond of something”.
For example: I’m not crazy about this cake because it tastes strange.
- I don’t appreciate that
This way of expressing dislike is great for professional and serious conversations.
Example: I don’t appreciate being shouted at in public.
- It doesn’t tickle my fancy
It is an idiom and it means we did not find it appealing, funny or interesting.
Example: That comedian’s sense of humor doesn’t tickle their fancy.
- I’m disinterested in that
We use this sentence if something simply does not interest us.
Example: My friends are all disinterested in politics.
- It’s not for me
This is a neutral way of explaining that you are not interested in something.
Example: Everyone loves the series Lost but it’s not for me.
- I’m not a big fan of it
To say “I’m not a big fan” is an idiomatic expression and it means we do not like something very much.
Example: I’m not a big fan of the new James Bond.
- I’ll pass
This is a quick way of saying we are not interested in a suggestion.
Example: Do you want to come to the pub?” “Nah, thanks, I’ll pass.
