Dạng Describing a Place
Describing a place là dạng yêu cầu thí sinh miêu tả một địa điểm nào đó. Ví dụ:
- Describe a famous city
- Describe a village that you visited
Đây là một trong các nhóm chủ đề phổ biến trong bài thi IELTS Speaking Part 2, vậy nếu các bạn nắm chắc các trả lời các đề thuộc dạng này, chúng ta sẽ biết cách “xử gọn” nó khi gặp trong phòng thi.

Where it is
Đầu tiền, nêu tên nơi sắp miêu tả.
- Name of place

Thêm 1 mệnh đề quan hệ cho đa dạng ngữ pháp
which is the most wonderful/beautiful/interesting …………… I’ve been to.
- Location
Nêu địa điểm
It is located/situated in……….
- How can you get there
Kể bạn đến đó bằng cách nào.
It takes me …………. to fly/drive/walk/…….
When/How often
Khi kể về một lần gần nhất bạn đến một nơi
I had chance to visit……………….on my summer holiday
I paid a visit to…………….
Khi kể về một nơi bạn đến thường xuyên
I go there………………. a week/month since it is in the walking distance from my house/apartment/……
What makes it special
Đây là phần quan trọng các dạng này, là lúc để chúng ta thể hiện vốn từ. Các chủ đề hẹp có thể nói về bao gồm:
- How it looks like/ Its sceneries
Một vài từ hữu dụng để miêu tả:

One of the most impressive cities that I have been to is probably Da Nang, a beach city located in the Middle of Vietnam. Last year, my company held their annual staff summer vacation in this city, and I was extremely excited about that because I had wanted to visit Da Nang for ages. I’d heard a lot about the people of DaNang who are known for their hospitality and their willingness to help others. I was really impressed by those traits of the local people when I witnessed it with my own eyes. While on the way to the city Centre, I rented a motorbike and got a flat tire and we couldn’t find any garage nearby. Then a middle-aged man we ran into on the road gave us a ride in his truck and took us to the nearest garage. It was really kind of him to do that for complete strangers.
Besides the inhabitants, Da Nang’s natural beauty was amazing. We had a chance to feast our eyes on the gorgeous view of the city, bridges, and coastal roads where mountains and beaches lay side by side. It was one of the most breathtaking experiences ever.
Da Nang’s also a crossroads from which travelers can make their way to many other famous tourist attractions like Hoi An, Hue, Nha Trang. I would love to return to Da Nang someday.
